ICOS Switzerland was well presented at the ICOS Science Conference 2026 held in Lund, Sweden, from 15-17 September 2026. We look back with a smile on numerous fruitful scientific interactions, on meeting colleagues from near and far, on the exceptionally generous Swedish weather, on good vegetarian food and on the overall very positive vibe of the conference.
The ICOS Science Conference is organized by the ICOS Head Office every second year and is clearly the highlight for the ICOS community. This year, it was held in Lund (15-17 September 2026) at the wonderful venue AF-Borgen in Lund where a total of 622 participants (537 on-site and 85 online) from 50 countries came together. ICOS Switzerland was well presented with both oral and poster presentations in many different sessions, and members of the ICOS-CH consortium were actively involved as session organizers. Some contributions also went beyond basic science, e.g during the impressive evening of Science & Art at the Museum Skissernas or during the panel discussion on North-South Synergies for Policy-Relevant Climate Action.
Another clear highlight was the election of Iris Feigenwinter (Station PI of Davos station, ETH Zurich) as co-chair of the Ecosystem Monitoring Assembly, which met the day before the conference started. We congratulate Iris and highly appreciate her work for the ICOS community.
