The ICOS Switzerland Annual Meeting 2026 took place at ETH Zurich on 1 September. The day started with inputs from externals experts on greenhouse gas reporting and was followed by a program mix of administration and science - a great overview of the various efforts ongoing within ICOS Switzerland.

This year held at ETH Zurich, the annual meeting of ICOS Switzerland (ICOS-CH) was again a highlight for the ICOS-CH community. For the first time, the program also included talks from external experts. It started off with insights by Regine Röthlisberger (Federal Office for the Environment, FOEN) on the national greenhouse gas inventory under the Paris Agreement. Esther Thürig (Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research, WSL) then talked about the Swiss Forest and its role as a carbon sink based on data from the NFI (National forest inventory). During the rest of the day, the program covered updates and highlights from ICOS-CH, ICOS RI and all three ICOS-CH stations (Jungfraujoch, Davos, Basel). The current state of the ongoing stakeholder analysis was presented, and the next steps were discussed in the plenary session. Last but not least, scientific talks with latest results from the community, but also from beyond ICOS-CH, highly enriched the full-day program.
